Winterwarm XR+ Suspended Gas Heater Installation

The Challenge

CK Services 1990 were recently called in to do a service for the various gas heating systems at Coton Orchard Garden Centre in Cambridge under a new service contract gained for honest and a reliable service and good communication with the client. Our engineer discovered that the one of the old Reznor UDSA heaters had gained cracks on the combustion chamber and because of its location on the heat exchanger, it could not be repaired and would probably go again in areas near to the cracks it was condemned for. Our engineer isolated and disconnected the appliance and issued a ‘not to use’ warning notice from the gas safe register.

The Solution

A brand new Winterwarm XR+ Suspended Gas Heater would be the ideal replacement for the old heater, and a quotation was submitted to the client for the new heater, which would replace it with not much modification needed to the existing heating system.

The Result

The quotation was accepted and approved by the client – and our team of inhouse engineers removed the old heater and flue system and replaced it with a new Winterwarm XR+ suspended gas heater, reusing the suspension brackets and the electrical and gas supplies. A new flue system was installed using a cherry picker and harnesses to access the roof safely and a new control panel was fitted reusing the original wiring, The heater is now running and commissioned and is modulating as well so it is very efficient and a great solution all round. The customers are now happy, and the client as well as its providing a good solution and now ready for the colder winter periods.
